Hype yourself for your next D&D session with a dungeon full of memes.

That's my plan, at least. Literally tomorrow I'm going to return to the longest-running D&D campaign I'm taking part in, so my hype has a +10 circumstantial bonus. That's a campaign that started back at the beginning of 2017 by my former boss. Oh, and it's worth mentioning that this said boss was the manager of a D&D extracurricular activity company for kids, and the party was formed by then-current D&D DMs working there, including me. Yes, I used to do this cool job when I was a student.

Years have passed, none of us is working in that field anymore, but this D&D group has endured long breaks, party changes, and life-altering world events. But it's still here, at the end of 2026. And after I took a long break because my wife gave birth a year ago, it's time for me to return tomorrow - and I'm so excited. We're playing D&D 5e, because this is what was widely available back in 2017. I'm not a fan of D&D 5e, to say the least, but I'm definitely a fan of my party of people there.

My character is Kai, an Aasimar barbarian. She's not an ooga-booga tribesperson from the forest - she's just an 18-year-old with a lot of pent-up rage and teenage angst. She's at a very low point in her life right now, and I'm excited to see where it leads her once she's on the other side. I can't believe I'm finally going to play her again tomorrow!
